Matcha Matcha is a fictional ceremonial grade matcha brand that I created and designed from the ground up. Inspired by the heritage of Uji in Japan and the quiet luxury of modern wellness culture, the brand blends traditional craftsmanship with a youthful, elevated and minimal aesthetic.
This project includes the full development of the visual identity, logo system, packaging, mockups and photography. Every element was created to express the idea of a modern ritual that is simple, natural and intentionally refined.

MATCHA MATCHA
LOGO MARK
I designed the Matcha Matcha logo mark as a modern interpretation of the chasen, the bamboo whisk used in traditional Japanese matcha preparation. The chasen’s form symbolizes care, craft, and ritual, which felt essential to the brand. Within the shape, I built in two mirrored arches that create a subtle double m, representing Matcha Matcha and tying the mark back to the name in a clean, minimal way.
MOCKUPS
I developed a full suite of branded mockups to show how Matcha Matcha could extend into real world touchpoints and merchandise. This included a website home page concept, branded stickers, business cards, tote bags, hats and sweatshirts. Each item was designed to reflect the brand’s modern, youthful and elevated aesthetic and to serve as potential SWAG for pop up events or future retail offerings.
POSTERS
I created a set of five posters designed to feel cohesive as a unified collection. Each poster reflects the Matcha Matcha visual identity through consistent typography, color and layout choices, while still allowing room for variation in message and composition. Together they demonstrate how the brand can express itself across larger format print pieces in a way that feels modern, minimal and visually connected.
GIFT BOX
The Matcha Matcha gift box was designed as a complete introduction to traditional matcha preparation. Created to be sold alongside the ceremonial grade matcha tin, the box includes a matcha bowl, a whisk and a whisk stand. It serves as an elevated gift option and as a starter set for anyone who wants to learn and enjoy matcha in the traditional way. The design reflects the brand’s clean and natural aesthetic, presenting the tools as part of a thoughtful and modern ritual.
CAMBER POP-UP
Camber is a local coffee shop in Bellingham Washington. To add more depth to the Matcha Matcha brand, I created a fictional collaboration between Matcha Matcha and Camber. This collaboration included a custom menu, a poster and a set of punch cards, along with a full photoshoot at the cafe. I brought in the physical products including the matcha tin, the gift box, the poster and the menu, and photographed them on site alongside a group of friends who modeled for the project. The result is a realistic extension of the brand that shows how Matcha Matcha could live in a real cafe environment.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media plays a significant role in shaping how a brand is experienced, especially for a modern and youth oriented product like Matcha Matcha. To explore how the brand would live in a digital environment, I created a collection of nine Instagram posts along with Instagram stories and reels. These pieces show how the visual identity, tone and storytelling translate into a cohesive and engaging online presence.
A heartfelt thank you to my models Kylie Weiberg, Noah Justin, Isabella Doughty, Abby Sheets and Riley Burks. I am so grateful for their time and for being part of this project.
